The Book of 2 Thessalonians

CHAPTER ONE : 1 To the church members in Thessalonica, Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy extend their greetings. God, our heavenly Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ are the rightful owners of this church.  2 I pray that you experience a lot of joy and tranquillity as a result of the goodness of God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. 3 We continually praise God for you, my brothers. It's the correct thing to do. Increasingly, you have faith in him. You're all growing more in love with one another. 4 We are pleased to share with God's other churches about your perseverance and faithfulness in the face of all the challenges and persecution you are facing. 5 And God, who is Judgment is right for his Kingdom, will use this persecution to demonstrate his justice and to elevate you to its throne. 6 He will exact revenge for your tormentors through his justice.7 And when the Lord Jesus descends from heaven, God will provide peace to both those of you who are suffering persecution and to us. He will appear in a burning fire with his powerful angels, 8 bringing judgment on those who do not know God and refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. 9 As a result of their punishment, they will be destroyed forever and cut off from the Lord and his mighty. 10 When he arrives on that day, he will receive honour from his holy people—praise from all who believe. And you fall into this category because you trusted what we said about him. 11 As a result, we never stop praying for you, asking God to give you the means to live a life deserving of his calling. I pray that he would provide you the strength to carry out all the good deeds that your faith inspires you too. 12 Consequently, as a result of the way you live, the name of our Lord Jesus will be respected, and you will also be honoured. All of this is made possible by the mercy of our Lord and God, Jesus Christ.

CHAPTER THREE : 3 Last but not least, we ask that you, dear brothers and sisters, pray for us. Pray for the Lord's word to be received with honour everywhere it goes, just as it was when it first reached you. 2 Pray that we would be delivered from evil and wicked individuals as well, as not everyone is a believer. 3 However, the Lord is trustworthy; he will support you and keep you safe from the devil. 4 And we have faith in the Lord that you will keep doing what we instructed you to do. 5 Your hearts may be guided by the Lord to a complete under and expression of God's love and the patient endurance that comes through Christ. 6 And now, beloved brothers and sisters, we command you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to stay away from those Christians who live lazy lifestyles and disregard the customs they inherited from us. 7 Because you are aware of your obligation to emulate us.  While we were with you, we were active. 8 Without being reimbursed, we never took anybody else's meal. So that we wouldn't be a burden to any of you, we worked day and night. 9 We had every right to ask you to feed us, but we wanted to set an example for you to follow. 10 We gave you the order, "Those reluctant to labour will not get to eat," even while we were among you. 11 However, we have heard that some of you are leading indolent lifestyles, refusing to work, and interfering in the affairs of others. 12 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we admonish and exhort such individuals to settle down and find employment so that they may support themselves. 13 The rest of you, my brothers and sisters, never stop being good. 14 Observe individuals who disobey the instructions in this letter and take them into account. To make them feel ashamed, keep your distance from them. 15 Instead of viewing them as enemies, warn them like you would a brother or sister. 16 And now, may the Lord of peace himself always grant you peace and in all circumstances. May the Lord bless you all. 17 I'm Paul, and this is my greeting in my own handwriting. To prove that my letters are legitimate, I do this in every one of them. 18 May our Lord Jesus Christ's grace be upon you all.

CHAPTER TWO: 2 Now, dear brothers and sisters, let us explain a few points regarding the arrival of our Lord Jesus Christ and the manner in which we shall be assembled to meet him. 2 Don't be easily shocked or rattled by those who assert that the Lord’s Day has already begun. Don't trust them, even if they claim to have received a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter purportedly from us. 3 Don't be taken in by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a tremendous revolt against God and the man of lawlessness—the destroyer—is exposed. 4 He will exalt himself and reject everything that is referred to be a deity or an object of devotion. He will even take a seat in the God temple while pretending to be God. 5 Don't you recall that while I was with you, I informed you about all of this? 6 And you know what is holding him back, for he can only be revealed when the right time comes. 7 For this lawlessness is already in motion behind closed doors, and it will continue to do so until the person preventing it moves aside. 8 At that point, the man of lawlessness will come to light, but the Lord Jesus will destroy him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him with the glory of his appearing. 9 With false authority, signs, and miracles, this man will arrive to carry out Satan's plan. 10 He will employ all forms of foul trickery to deceive people who are headed for doom because they reject the truth that could have saved them. 11 As a result, God will lead people astray, and they will believe these lies. 12 Then they will be punished for relishing wickedness rather than believing the truth. 13 Concerning us, we are unable to do anything except praise God for you, dear brothers and sisters whom the Lord loves. We're constantly grateful that God selected you to be among the first to find salvation—the salvation that was brought about by the Spirit who sanctifies you and your conviction of the truth. 14 When we shared the Good News with you, He called you to salvation; as a result, you can now participate in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Keep in mind all of these things, dear brothers and sisters, and maintain a firm hold on the instruction we conveyed to you in person and in the letter. 16 Now, may our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and great hope through his grace, 17 comforts and strengthen you in all that you do and say.
